More than 25 syndicated comic strips will be commemorating 'No Pants Day' this coming Friday to help charities get clothing to those in need. Participating cartoonists will be drawing their characters without trousers and urging readers to donate clothing to thrift and second-hand stores hard-hit by COVID-19.

“This was a great way to help bring communities together but also have a little bit of a laugh,” said Tea Fougner, comics editor at King Features Syndicate.

The No Pants Day is an annual event in various countries. It is held on the first Friday in May. It requires publicly wearing just undergarments on the lower part of the body. It was started by a small campus club at University of Texas at Austin known as the Knighthood of Buh as a humorous stunt to end of the semester.
